how football brings about memories

haiz. LONG POST AHEAD. football fans and friends should read all of it. =)

I feel that my life now is so boring

coz time pasts so slowly..

and then again..

I realise that time flies very fast also.

time pasts slowly bcoz of school, homework etc..don't enjoy it..

but time flies bcoz of frens & fun etc..

and I also realise that if u watch TV shows in series, you realise that over time, when u keep on watching and watching, time also flies.

like on the January 1st,u watch an episode

then u keep on watching until like June .. u realise time flies very fast.

I like football, and when I watch EPL every weekend. I realise time seriously flies dam bloody fast.

..

it's like. I still rmbr last year back in August after SA1.(August)

I watched the ManU-Chelsea Champions League final

where John Terry missed the penalty and let ManU grab the trophy

it was so heart-throbbing u noe. when he lined up to take the penalty, then I thought it was going to be all over .. NOO !! please don't score !!

and omg ! I heard the "PONG.." sound.

the ball hit the post and out !

then my heart was so fcking relieved,

and when Van Der Sar saved the Anelka penalty,

MAN U! Champions of Europe

...

that was last year.

and so .. after that match,it was the season break. so no football for a few months..

so I spent those days studying,to make up for my first semester suckish grades.

these are really memories . .

then after SA2,it was Sec 2 camp.

I remembered we went into the Music room at night to watch Army Daze.

..

that was when the new 08/09 season started.(October)

then ManU - Portsmouth was the opening match,if I recalled.

then Sean Teh asked me the result, coz he was one of the helper,he couldn't check for the results.

while Cavin told me b4 I went for the camp.. xD

ManU beat them 1-0 I think?

haha, then as the holidays went on..

..

in November, before I went to HongKong.

Cavin & Shaun stayed over to watch a group stage match against Celtic where we drew 1-1,lol ..(November)

I remembered that then. was the start of ManU winning 1-0 all the way, consecutively.

ManU beat ManCity 1-0 . then I think that was the start of all the consecutive 1-0 wins.

so I went to HongKong. and the TV was awesome ! there's cable. so I watched football when I was in Macau, when my parents went to gamble. I was alone in the room, had nothing to do.

so I watched football to cure my fcking boredom.

and I watched ManCity owning Arsenal 3-0 . xD

... after returning to Singapore.

..

I remembered TPJC band fest, haha. (December)

where the season was in its initial stages

then I remembered there was a series of consecutive draws from the Big 4 clubs. ManU,Chelsea,Liverpool & Arsenal.

there was this period like..if Arsenal drew,Chelsea also drew.

and if ManU drew,Liverpool oso drew.

dam weird/cool..haha

JiaWei was the one who realised that and told all of us the percussionists

and roflmao. that time Hull were like in 3rd place and ManU were in like 11th place.

lololol

.

and so went on the holidays. until Christmas

when my dad invited his friends over for bbq.

and one of them also supports football

coz we were talking about football la..

then he told me in a gentle, just a casual comment " but honestly ar..I don't think ManU can win it this season "

I just nodded my head lor, thinking ' hmm.. duno lor. wait and see =)'

haha

..

then school reopened =O(January onwards.. )

and I think those consecutive 1-0 wins and clean sheets kept going on and on..

then Van Der Sar broke the official English record for most number of consecutive clean sheets ,broke Steve Death's record of 10 clean sheets. I think?

ManU got record of 12.

until Kuszchak(duno how 2 spell) was the keeper for the match against Blackburn

where ManU beat Blackburn 2-1. there goes the end of the clean sheet run. currently,ManU holds it at 12 for the record :D

then football every weekend, match by match

the race for the title intensified

..

and the conclusion. MAN U . 3rd consecutive Champions of England ! (May)

this was the end of the EPL season 08/09.

ha ! refer back to the Christmas section. my dad's friend said ManU couldn't win it. I said "we'll see " .. well..u've seen it ^^

and then it was all Champions League action.

40-yarder wonder goal from C.Ronaldo saw ManU through Porto

Chelsea were lucky with Liverpool with a 4-3 score. (no offense to Chelsea fans)

then the semis-

ManU got down and dirty with Arsenal. aggregate of 4-1 saw ManU to the finals.

Barcelona advance by away goals rule who eventually won the Champions League this year on May 27 ..

..

and so came the June hols. where football ceased. (June)

transfer rumours,saga and everything..

Ronaldo heading to Madrid?

that was the biggest topic back then .

well..what'ya know? .

he's there now. for a world record fee of 80 million euros ..

..

the new season will begin in August I think. and another memorable season will start.

hogging the TV on weekend nights watching football

reminiscing events/records that ManU seized/broke/dominated at the end of it again.

last year was Euro 08.
I remember those June holiday nights where I'd stay up til 3 or 4a.m to watch those qualifying matches.

next year's World Cup.

I've supported ManU since Sec 1

see? how watching football can be so memorable.

seriously,I can remember everything still so clearly from the 1st game of the season,to the 38th.

38+ weeks . and it seemed like it was just yesterday when the season started

it's really memorable and enjoyable to watch football, and support a club.

it really brings memories =)
